Despite an already hectic schedule, Brendan Brazier spent the month of October travlling across Canada as a speaker in the Students for Sustainability Tour. The largest environmental tour in Canadian history joined respected, environmentally-concious speakers together to discuss current issues on sustainability.
Brendan Brazier spoke with:
• David Suzuki (Environmentalist, Author & Broadcaster)
• Stephen Lewis (Former Canadian Ambassador to the UN and UN Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa)
• Jack Layton (Leader of the NDP)
• John Baird (Minister of the Environment)
• Elizabeth May (Leader of the Green Party of Canada)
• George Stroumboulopoulos (Host of CBC’s “The Hour”)
From Brendan, students learned how to simply reduce your carbon footprint by making food choices that are healthy for you and the planet. Brendan’s talk was based on his 2007 best selling book, The Thrive Diet; students learned how an environmentally sustainable diet can also improve your health.
